Membership strategy for the Royal Philharmonic Society

The Royal Philharmonic Society, the 200-year old membership organization, which commissioned Beethoven’s 9th Symphony worked with Solon to define ambitious targets for its membership activities in the future.

We started by sizing the ‘market’ for potential members using a number of segmentations and working with the organization to build up a vision of how much of the available ‘market’ the organization could capture. Our strategy was supported by concrete operational recommendations and a detailed implementation plan.

We presented the findings of our study to the board of the organization and they were adopted in full. We remain in touch with the RPS and are actively monitoring their implementation of our recommendations.
