Our client was a provider of digital content and marketing for mobile operators across emerging markets. As one of the pioneers in its field, it has established itself as true world leader. Not surprisingly, it attracted the attention of private equity backers. Shortly after the transaction, Solon was asked to help the company to develop a new line of business.

Solon helped the company to develop an innovative approach to enter the micro-credit industry, by using the data it had about the customers of its existing MNO clients to produce credit scores and advance small amounts of credit. Our blueprint for this global product launch was the first in a series of products that will see the business become a credible player in the booming mobile financial services industry.

Our recommendations were examined and accepted by the company’s board and the company has already started to implement them.
